Who are we
Canadian Pakistani Association of Scarborough (CPAS) is an independent not-for profit organization that focuses on development of the Pakistani community situated in Scarborough.

Mission Statment
CPAS’ aim and objective is to unite our community under one platform, engage them by networking with one another, creating awareness of resources for new immigrants and mentoring them with ways and means to integrate into the mainstream.
Through advocacy we will act as a collective voice for the Pakistani community in matters related to settlement, employment and social economic development. We will organize cultural, educational, and recreational events in order to build bridges across the communities of the world.
Our mission is to foster an energized Pakistani community, create social change by building alliances and working closely with those who share a vision of empowering all communities with equality and fairness to participate in defining Canada's future. We are proud of the culture and heritage that we bring to the Canadian society from back home and we take great pride in the Canadian social justice system, freedom of speech, shared values and the respect for diversity.


Our Objectives
To promote the Pakistani culture and values by arranging social and recreational events and programs (picnics, summer camps, sports, etc) where members of the Pakistani community in Scarborough, both male and female and from all ages, can enjoy such events while connecting and engaging with each other under an umbrella of community-ship.
Arrange mentoring programs (seminars, etc) for immigrants from Pakistan to connect with Pakistani Canadian residents and network about making the best of Canada's various systems (i.e. affordable paths to education, health, senior-care) and fostering good citizenship.
To advance education and enhance the opportunity for accessible education by holding after-school programs for children (from Toddler to Youths) and adult-literacy seminars.
To address and prevent specific problems faced by families by providing parents, children, and youth with mentoring programs, workshops, and seminars on issues such as anger management, conflict resolution, effective communication and domestic abuse. The organization also wishes to address these problems by providing links to professional social/domestic services that addresses issues like substance abuse and domestic abuse.
To promote women participation in community and address issues specific to them.
To connect with members of other cultural communities and promote harmony and respect on basis of humanity between cultural communities, by holding inter-cultural and intra-cultural events and supporting charitable causes of registered charities
To bring awareness of social/political issues and form a strong voice on matters that effect the Pakistani community of Scarborough.
To protect the environment by arranging environmental programs that discuss sustainable and environment-friendly ways of life (clean-energy, etc), as well as participate in activities that improve the environment and limit climate change (community tree-planting, etc).
To address and prevent problems faced by children and youth, both male and female, by providing youth mentor-ship and counseling on subjects including everyday-life-skills, education, business, confidence-building and goal-setting.
To alleviate poverty by holding and supporting programs that aim to address root causes of poverty (hunger programs, etc) and support/donate to projects undertaken by registered charities aiming to alleviate poverty.
